Hi, I’m Dennis Taekema.

I often think the “about me” sections are funny because they’re almost always written in the third person even though it is generally the owner writing about themselves.

So after Dennis made several attempts to sound smarter than he really is by writing about himself in the third person, he quickly abandoned that approach and decided to write this page like it was a letter to a friend.

Which …in many ways, it is.

Anyway – what do you want to know?

I was born in ’81, started my first business at 16 (and several others since then), and teamed up with a couple of the Forzani’s in 2012.

I have a weird last name, (Pronounced Tack-eh-mah) it’s actually dutch though most think it’s Japanese.

I live in Alberta with my wife, Cayla.

We have two kids, a large fish tank full of fish, and a dog named Ace.

But you could find that kind of stuff just looking me up on Facebook, and I’m guessing that’s not the kind of stuff you’re actually looking for.

You’re really here because you are wondering; 

Is This Guy Worth My Time And Attention?

To be honest, for many readers who find themselves here, the answer is simply no.  

And here’s why:

I am not a magic pill for your business problems.

For some reason, people often equate “Business Mentor or Business Coach” with instant success.

(Which I understand, because that’s what made me hire and then work for my first coach many years ago, but more on that later).

To be honest, I thought hiring a coach would be a fast easy way to get someone else to basically do the work for me and I would make way more money.

Well, let me tell you, it wasn’t fast or easy. (And to be honest my first mentor taught me nothing for a lot of money, the second mentor, however, now that is a good story).

Now, I do have a consistent revenue coming in from my businesses every month, often without much effort, BUT it took a lot of work, frustration, and perseverance to get there.

So, honestly, if you are not ready to commit to putting in even more effort than you are putting in right now to build an exceptional business then I am really not your guy.

If you would rather work in your business then build a business; you are really not going to enjoy my stuff.

I will teach you how to easily and simply understand your financials, increase your sales and build repeatable systems that other can follow so you can EARN an exceptional Business.

(Seriously, it will make you in the top 10% of business owners who actually make money, and have the lifestyle to go with it)

And this will require a whole new skill set, which I will teach you and you will practice and get really good at. 

Here’s something I want you to consider.

Once you start going down the “business building” rabbit hole, you’ll see all kinds of people telling you how to “hack”, “hustle” or “template” your business to success.

In the end, most will simply brain-storm with you and then ask you what you think you should do and hold you accountable to do it.

Does it work?

Yes, in the short term.

The reality is that it won’t build lasting results because it doesn’t equip you to build a profitable seven figure or more business, it simply holds you accountable and makes you feel good as you are spinning your wheels.

And that is a waste of time.

If you want to waste time, see a movie, It’s less expensive.

Which is why I will teach you how to build your business the same way I have built mine. One tool, one process, one routine at a time. 

And the compound effect is simply staggering. 

If you’re looking for the “easy way” I am not interested in working with you.

It’s important you understand what I’m telling you. 

 I can help you; I just won’t.

 I’m capable of it, but I refuse to do it.


Because when I hear someone say, “What’s the easiest way,” what I’m hearing is, “I’m not fully invested in the long term success of my own business …and am therefore not fully invested in the long term success of my customers.”

 And that translates to “I don’t want to work.”

 Look, building a sustainable business is HARD WORK.

 Yes, when it is running the way it should it can make you tons of money, and you can decide what to do with your time.

But, that still takes HARD WORK to build it that way, and it still takes some work to maintain it.

BUT, you have to be willing to EARN it.

You’re still here? Good.

By the way, this process still works even if you HATE routine. (Trust me, I hate it, and yet this process has worked amazing)

(By the way, you are still “self-employed” even if you have 10 or more employees BUT the business falls apart the moment you take more than two weeks off… just saying)
